Terms of service
TERMS OF SERVICE
These Terms of Service apply to purchases made through Aevum Books and the use of our online store. By placing an order with Aevum Books, you agree to these terms.
ABOUT AEVUM BOOKS
Aevum Books is an Australian online bookseller operated by Christopher James Rudder, trading as Aevum Books, ABN 39 161 590 798.
You can contact us at contact@aevumbooks.com.
PRODUCTS AND INFORMATION
We aim to provide accurate information about the books offered through our store, including titles, authors, editions, formats, ISBNs, descriptions, images, prices and availability.
While we take reasonable care to ensure this information is accurate, occasional errors may occur. If we identify a material error affecting an order, we may contact you before fulfilment to resolve the issue.
Product images are provided for identification and illustration. Minor differences in cover artwork, publisher branding or other presentation may occur where publishers change the appearance of an edition without changing its ISBN.
PRICES AND PAYMENT
All prices displayed on our Australian store are in Australian dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated.
Payment must be successfully completed using one of the payment methods available at checkout before an order can be processed.
We may correct genuine pricing or product-information errors. If a material error affects an order that has already been placed, we will contact you and, where appropriate, offer the option of proceeding on the corrected basis or receiving a refund.
ORDERS AND AVAILABILITY
Placing an order does not guarantee that a title remains available from a publisher or supplier. Some books offered by Aevum Books are sourced from third-party distributors after an order is placed, and supplier availability can change without notice.
Books marked as available to order or available to backorder may require additional processing time before dispatch.
If we are unable to fulfil an order, we will contact you and provide an appropriate resolution, which may include cancellation and a refund for the affected item.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, payment problems, genuine pricing or listing errors, or where a product cannot be supplied. This does not limit any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Orders are delivered in accordance with our Shipping Policy.
Depending on availability and the supplier used to fulfil an order, items within the same order may be dispatched separately or directly from one of our distribution partners.
Where Aevum Books chooses to split an order into multiple shipments, you will not be charged additional shipping solely because we have chosen to fulfil the order separately.
Delivery and dispatch estimates are estimates only unless we expressly agree otherwise. We will take reasonable steps to fulfil orders and address delivery problems in accordance with applicable Australian law.
CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Cancellations, returns and refunds are governed by our Return and Refund Policy and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Aevum Books does not voluntarily provide returns or refunds for change of mind. This does not affect any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Aevum Books name, branding, website design and original content created by Aevum Books may not be copied, reproduced or used for commercial purposes without permission.
Book covers, publisher descriptions and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective rights holders.
WEBSITE USE
You must not use our website for unlawful, fraudulent or malicious purposes, interfere with the operation or security of the store, attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, or use automated methods to abuse or disrupt the website.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Our store uses third-party services to operate functions such as ecommerce, payments, shipping and fulfilment. Your use of some services may also be subject to the applicable provider's terms and privacy practices.
PRIVACY
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy requirements.
AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The terms applicable to an order are those in effect when the order is placed, except where a change is required by law.
